The solid wood feels very sturdy, and the assembly was easy. The stools do wobble a little bit but they didn't before I screwed in the cross bars - I think they just need some adjustment or some self-leveling felt pads on the feet. If this were a more expensive set that would knock it down to 4 stars, but I'm factoring in value too - I'm willing to tinker a bit to save some money. We love this set. We got two of these sets to use when we have guests over. They are perfect for this because they are lightweight enough to move around easily, but look nice and are sturdy. Ok let's talk chairs! When using in a rental upholstery is a nightmare and solid would is so heavy.
