We've installed these on all six of our exterior doors. Unfortunately, my husband had to cut down all of the bolts as they were slightly oversized for our doors. Additionally we didn't realize that each of the sets would be keyed differently (our error) so we'll need to have a locksmith re-key each of the locks to be the same. Other than these easily fixed issues, the sets are great looking and high quality.

The set was easy to install and worked immediately once you added 4 double A batteries to the lock. The door handle stopped working 11 months in. I get out the house but was unable to open from the outside as I assume, due to wear and tear the top button on the handle set bent. I replaced the door handle knob only and the lock still works.

After I (and one or two of my kids) lost my keys, I was always a bit nervous, as I thought that our house keys were out there somewhere. With this handleset, we all have a renewed sense of security! Unlike most locks and handlesets, this cannot be tampered with or kicked in. This front door lock set is an extremely secure deadbolt. It is actually drill resistant, as well! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this combo pack to replace a kwikset that you could not change the keys your self and to the Lever handle which gives me the use my elbow to open the door if I am carrying objects. The installation went well but the previous dead bolt was not set into the door hole secondary to size. I went to hardware and got a clamp kit with drill bit and drilling the hole to accept and place flush with the door surface. The lock then function like the old one in the new widen hole. The handle went in with no problems and was a night and day difference. Then we had painters paint the building and I had a hidden key set outside and it went missing. I then just changed the key set using the system you follow for re-keying the lock and it was as simple as it could be. My neighbor place a unit in her door after my work so well.

My favorite feature, though, is the ability to switch out the keys with the supplied tool. If I go away, is it is easy to switch the key to a "vacation" key so that someone can come in to take care of the pets. We do not have to worry about anyone having our every day key. Another plus- sometimes I switch the key so that my wife's key won't work when she gets home. It is so easy to switch they key back, she doesn't even notice when I do it. It keeps her busy trying to figure out what is wrong with her key and it makes me look like a hero when I "fix" it. Everyone wins. Really. Overall, I am really happy with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased two door/deadbolt combo packs as well as a two door knob pack for installation on a cabin. They all were designed with the "Smartkey" technology, which was something new too me. I removed the old other brand knobs and deadbolts. I installed the new bronze finish knobs on the outer steel security doors and front and back doors of my home. The fit and finish were exceptional and with the new style outer fringe plates, I found it easy to install the long screws that hold the cover plates in place. The old style knobs you have to fumble around with trying to find the screw plates, but not with these new style knobs. Once installed, I re-keyed all locks to match using just one key!! That was neat. I had a shed lock as well so I bought a "Smartkey" padlock for it, and matched it to the house key as well. Fast and easy. I recommend these locks with the Smartkey technology to anyone. I found the fit and finish was well done, and they really improved the appearance of my doors as well. I had one lock that needed to be reversed, but one call to Kwikset, and they sent me the tool I needed immediately and it took me all of about 5 minutes to reverse the key hole in the lock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kwikset sent me this unit as a warranty replacement for a ten-year old unit that had an interior break that should never had happened (Kwikset did not hesitate to cover their product, no questions asked. Their lifetime product warranty is just that. I am impressed.) I was able to easily re-key the new unit to my existing key, so the lock sets in my home all remain "keyed alike." The new handleset was close enough to the old one I had very little trouble with installation. Everything turned out quite nicely with the replacement. There is only one small visible blemish the new handleset did not cover. But perfection is always elusive when replacing an old model with a newer one. The blemish is well-hidden with a bit of nail hole filler. Bottom line? I love the Kwikset Handleset, I'm impressed with their handling of my warranty issue, and remain a satisfied and faithful Kwikset customer! Product quality is high, ease of installation and operation is superior, and the unit is beautiful, as well as functional and secure. I have since purchased other Kwikset products at retail, and find the prices competitive and reasonably priced. What more could one ask for?

I received this as a warranty replacement for one I had purchased a number of years ago. A simple plastic piece associated with the thumb actuated lever had failed and they sent out an entire new unit. It feels like planned obsolescence, good enough to make it through the "lifetime" of 10 years or whatever the current definition is. I don't think one should put too much emphasis on "value" if one must replace lock sets. I was not aware it came with the highly certified dead bolt. I do not remember reading about that on the packaging.That makes me feel better about the unit. It may be necessary to reinforce the strike plate to take advantage of this feature, otherwise the weakness is the door frame but the same can be said for any lock. It is good to see it has the technology to resist bumping. I made a mistake in the color of the lock but the new color looks better on the house than the old color which had faded despite not being in direct sunlight. That one was close to the bronze finish. The lifetime polished brass finish seems appealing, but if the lifetime of the lock is determined by a small piece of plastic then the finish is less of an issue, especially if the fix is to send out an entire new unit. When I called in for warranty replacement of the last unit they were very polite. I don't recall shipping fees but it seemed to be I was charged full retail shipping rates where kwikset must have recouped some of their costs. Any business that has high volume gets a discount from major carriers. I reinstalled the old unit while waiting for the replacement to arrive and managed to get 6 more months of fading service out of it before the plastic piece was completely destroyed. When the plastic piece inevitably fails it is not possible to enter the house through that door and another means of entry must be used (another door, window, or if you are Santa then maybe the chimney).

I was searching for a handleset in a wrought iron finish for my new front door. I found several that I liked, but couldn't afford. When I came across the Kwikset Hawthorne my search ended. It hit the price point and design I had been hoping for. I am very happy with the iron black finish. The finish is a true black. It is now 2 years old and is showing no signs of wear. I also installed it myself. I was fairly nervous about drilling the final hole for the bottom of the handle but the template that came with the instructions layed it out perfectly. Definately recommend any of the kwikset line of products.

A Kwikset handleset similar to this one in an antique brass came with our Florida house in 2009. The front door faces south, and the handleset succumbed to sun and hard, frequent rains, and it developed unattractive spots by 2013. I called the company who originally installed the door & handleset, and they looked at it and said an antique nickel finish would wear much better than brass under poor weather conditions. They said Kwikset continously improves their products and warranties them for life, and would replace a weather-damaged handleset for free if I paid postage. I sent Kwikset a photo of the damaged handleset with my iPhone, paid a few bucks for postage, and within days had received a brand-new antique nickel Chelsea handleset - the closest match available to my 2009 model - with a single-use tool to key it to match my existing housekey, all without charge! It's now two years later, and the handleset is beautiful, still looks like it's brand new despite the constant Florida sun and rain, and still operates perfectly (and we use it a lot). I had never expected Kwikset to so quickly and easily honor a lifetime warranty, but it did! 'Kwikset has the best support ever, and makes a REALLY great handleset for a harsh climate like our Florida one! Kwikset has my highest recommendation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ought this new when i bought my house 7 years ago. Wanted to replace original handleset and loved the idea of Smartkey. Still looks good. I want to upgrade to a z-wave deadbolt, however Kwikset does not make one in antique brass, nor do they have any plans to if I am to believe their customer service. *sigh*. Even though the handle works perfectly well, I will end up replacing with a Kwikset deadbolt and complimentary handleset in whatever brand I can find.

Had a Handle very much like this one also Kwikset, that would NOT OPEN the Door. It was WORN OUT! The NEW Replacement was very nice, However, our 10 year old handle assembly was Made out of Billet Aluminum Internally on some of the Main Parts, and seemed a Little better Built. The NEW one has PLASTIC PARTS where the Older one was METAL???? Also, the New one is of the Re Key-able Style and Did Key up to our OLD KEY quite Nicely. Was real Happy about that.

I had been looking for black doorknobs for a home I am building and had a hard time finding affordable options. Then I found these at a price I could not deny. I was nervous about the quality I would receive however these exceeded all my expectations! I would recommend to anyone!!!

Installing this to my door was not diffifult at all and the instructions were very clear and my door was a perfect fit. I find the handle knobs to be very comfortable to use when opening and closing the door they are way much better than the average round doorknob i had before this.The smart key included can be set up to work with all locks in your home so i am definitely goin to be getting some more of these lock sets for my garage and back doors that is so much of a convenience for me. I would reccomend this product to try i think youll find it very pleasing.

Beautiful front door entry set! It is solid and heavy. I love the look and feel. The pieces are well packaged to help avoid shipping damage, which is important. I tried the lock and keys right away, perfect fit. The directions look a bit complex with all the small pieces in a box, so this set will definitely require professional installation. My front door is currently on back order, so I will be sure to post additional photos and comments after installation. So far, I love the set and will provide more details after installation, with regards to if the price is fair for the product.

The brushed nickel glows with the look of luxury, and I have received many complements on it. Best of all, it is bump proof and pick resistant. It has a Microban coating, which inhibits bacterial growth, so important in these days of COVID and other contagious diseases. It has a lifetime warranty, and can be re-keyed with Smart Key sets. It was easy to install, and so far has withstood the Colorado elements without any scratches or tarnishing. It is sturdy and obviously a high end, well made product. The exterior handset is beautifully built, and the interior has a gorgeous flip lever and dead bolt. Highly recommend!

I have not had this installed on my door yet as we are still waiting for our new door to come I but I feel like this handle will last for decades and I hope I’m right because I love this so much! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say I absolutely love the Baldwin - Spyglass Handleset with Spyglass Lever, it has a modern, cool sleek look that would look great on any front door. I love the fact that the key hole is above the door handle and is covered. The cover almost look like some cool high end technology that you would use to like hold an ID card over to unlock the door but it’s not! You just slide the top over and the keyhole is there for you to insert your key, this makes it less easy for someone to break into your house. It also uses smartkey technology, which mean it is pick-resistant and it allows you to rekey your lock, if you loaned someone you’re key or lost it you can simply rekey your lock as many times as you want!! This is a deadbolt lock that is extremely effective against break-ins, which makes me feel safe knowing I have this high end smartkey lock technology. This is a high end product, very well made and the design is modern and elegant. Must have, not just for the modern design, but for the safety!
