Chills well! I'm using it to cool about 700sq ft and we are COMFORTABLE! I keep my indoor temp 76-78F in the summer usually but my old unit was dying out, so I replaced it with this one. It's a very hot climate here, and this unit is having NO trouble maintaining 76F in here while it's been 94-97F. It's maintaining 74 in the 270 sq ft around it easily. If my space wasn't segmented by a doorway, I believe it would maintain about 74F in this amount of space (again, about 700sq ft).. just for knowledge to anyone considering buying this unit. It's easy to install, very easy. Just be warned that if you have a window sill on the window you'll be installing it in, you'll need to get foam weather strip (wide/thick) to put beneath the window insert and thinner foam (the type with adhesive) to put on top of the install (between window insert and window). Even if you have no window sill, I still recommend the thinner weatherstrip (type with adhesive) on top of the window insert to seal out drafts. ONE COMPLAINT: There is not a strong enough connection between the duct tip and the insert. You WILL need to find a way to reinforce it or it WILL disconnect after you install and try to even just slightly move the unit. I suggest just gluing it with your choice of adhesive after plugging the duct tip into the window insert. IT HAS LATCHES BUT THEY ARE INSUFFICIENT. Overall great unit with a lot of features!. Jay. The unit is whisper quiet depending on the setting. Even on high, it’s much more quiet than the traditional non inverter units. It’s worth the bump in price. Has a nice sleek look that is modern and blends in well with my bedroom. Personally, the aesthetics look way better in my opinion than a mini split unit plopped on the wall. I have only had the unit for a week but it came very well packaged and is very quiet compared to my last one. I did not screw anything into my windows as this is a temporary unit that I use for a few days throughout the year. The instructions were very simple and the unit is solid. I love being able to change the temperature and settings from my phone. I also appreciate how small the unit is compared to some of the other window models I have seen. I installed this unit in my vertical window and it works great. We used a piece of plywood to cover the rest of the window. The side extended panels and the insulated sheets you cut are a great idea. There are some good features to this air conditioner. It is lightweight and easy to carry and install into the window. It has several modes and the lowest setting makes very little noise. The "quiet" setting is very quiet. It doesn't give the cold cooling feeling that old air conditioners do and feels more like a central air conditioning system. My windows are non standard wide so I had to adjust the installation recommendations.
