The color matches as close as it possibly could with my brand new bedroom furniture set. It has a 2 tone variation in the wood and this matches one of them, so I am happy with that. I knew it would be unlikely to find a match unless there was one made by the furniture manufacturer for this line. I order the dark plantation cherry color finish. The 1st photo online when you click on for that color appears to be more of an oak finish then when you click on the rest of the photos they are more consistent to the color I received and was hoping to receive. The foot stool came with a little piece chipped out of it. I will touch it up so it wont be noticeable. Backside and underneath not as finished as nicely. Kind of rough. Back of stool wish it was more professionally finished out smoothly and not rough so it wouldnt snag or catch anything. To help prevent stool causing any accidental damage to my new bedroom furniture. I placed 4 large felt dark brown round pads at each corner for protection. The stool is the perfect height for me. My bed is about 33 inches off the ground. I am 56. Just the right weight. Not too heavy that it is fairly easy to move around, but not too light that it doesnt stay in place. Great color ( I purchased the red ) very sheik in design and a pop color for my kitchen. My review of four stars is reflected because the first step is narrow and has taken a bit of getting use to. This is not your moms step ladder.. it is heavy, sturdy and so nice to look at. Its stands alone and not something you need to hide. The two-step ladder is a simple, practical, and clean object, built with nice materials. The two finger-activated handles at the top open the rear legs with ease; a clever design. However, this ladder is heavy and there are no handles on the sides to assist when lifting and moving it around the house. This could be a problem for those with arthriits or reduced arm and hand strength. The spread at the base, the width of the legs, is narrow and feels tippy from side to side so climbing the first several times requires attention to balance. The top step is high, compared with other two-step ladders, which makes reaching into cabinets convenient, but some might find the distance between the two steps a bit too far. To improve this ladder for use in our home, I will be attaching hand-holds to each side to make it easier to lift and wider footpads to improve side-to-side stability.. Bogie.
