I can’t say enough good things about Ekena. Every order has arrived quickly, perfectly packed, and in flawless condition. The quality is so impressive that it pushed me to take on DIY projects I never imagined doing alone. I purchased a mitre saw, nail gun and caulking gun and was ready to go. Honestly, this has gotten so easy that I installed crown molding in my bathroom using leftover scraps in less than 45 minutes one day after work. Crown molding has the ability to add beauty to any room. The benefit of foam (EPS) crown molding is that it does not shrink, it is ready to paint and installation can be easily done by one person as the molding is lightweight and comes in 6.t ft lengths.

Five stars because the molding came exactly as pictured with a nice crisp profile. It was very well packaged. This was important because the foam material is much more delicate and lightweight than other crown moldings I’ve worked with. Nailing this stuff up is impossible - I tried (even with low pressure in my air compressor), but nails shoot all the way through. You’ll have to use an adhesive, but at least that way there are no holes to fill. I used silicone with double stick gorilla tape in a few spots to hold the molding in place while the silicone cured. Most importantly, despite being made of such delicate material, it cut down into sharp, perfect angles with my miter saw. It also paints well! If you order it in the winter, let it warm up to room temperature so you can work with it. The first step on the staircase was missing its trim and cutting a new one was not prohibitive so I bought this trim. It matches with the wood cove already in the house. I only used enough for around the curve and continued with wood cove. The instructions recommend using construction adhesive and nails so installation was easy. This has got to be the best thing we bough during our remodel. We put it very high up, as this isn't a molding you'd want where it could get brushed up against. It's not hardy because it...styrofoam! But, man, was it easy to put up and paint. A little tricky to cut, we used a razor blade. But it's gorgeous and you cannot tell it's not wood!
