Birdwell Sideboard

Looks and size wise, this sideboard was exactly what I was looking for, but unfortunately it is made of poor quality materials. The listing indicates that it is made of solid and manufactured wood, but it is definitely made of more manufactured wood than solid wood. My order arrived damaged, and the delivery team broke my replacement order. I didn't realize the poor quality of the sideboard until the furniture repair team came out to fix it and flipped it over. One of the attached pictures shows the area the delivery team broke which connects the foot to the frame. In case it isn't obvious from the picture, the wood in that area is basically particle board. The entire frame of the cabinet appears to be made from the same material. Also, included in the pictures are scratches from the doors and magnetic closures not being installed properly. Those scratches were present on the first sideboard that was delivered and on the replacement sideboard that was delivered. I knew this wasn't going to be best the quality piece, but I expected a lot better quality for something that was listed for $1,500 at the time (I purchased it on sale and with a 10% off coupon for $1,100).

It is perfect for my space. This sideboard exceeded my expectations!

I bought this for cabinet space to declutter my home office. The cabinet looks good. The doors open and close properly, and they have soft close hinges. It arrived very well packaged so there was no damage in shipping. The only assembly required was to screw in 6 legs and install 6 handles. To avoid having to lift the entire cabinet to stand it on its legs after screwing them in, I stacked Styrofoam packing blocks slightly higher than the legs, and lifted each end separately - similar to putting a car on blocks. This allowed me to screw in the legs from underneath, then slide out the blocks. The handles were more difficult to install because some of the threads were not tapped out deep enough to screw the bolts in far enough to get them tight. This required adding a washer to those bolts to get them tight (see photo). I didn't give it 5 stars because of the problem with the handles and because the finish was not evenly applied in a few places (see photo).

Beautiful! Came fully assembled. EDIT: So I really want to give this 5 stars but shortly after receiving this my husband noticed that the bottom was broken (not badly enough to see anything when looking at the front but very noticeable once he started investigating why one of the doors wouldn't close easily). Contacted Wayfair and they were super helpful in getting a new one for us; and quicker than expected too. Unfortunately the second that arrived had a broken door hinge and none of the magnetic hardware to keep the doors closed. Contacted Wayfair again and, again, they were so helpful through the process and felt awful that the item wasn't what we expected. Ultimately, we came to a resolution and still have the sideboard because it's beautiful. And I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying this product because the design is perfect.

Nice and sturdy piece or furniture, well made. Lots of storage space inside.

Great unit, delivery was quick and the installers put the unit together quickly. They placed it exactly where I wanted it and did a great job cleaning up. Great work.

Nice sideboard - great for anchoring a wall mounted tv. Client is happy.

Amazing. It has a simple, chic profile and works well with our design aesthetic. Nice space inside for storage.
