Add an extra layer of protection to your home with this high security swing bar door guard featuring an integrated auxiliary thumb turn lock. Finished in an attractive brass tone, this door guard allows occupants to safely open the door slightly for identification, visitor verification, package acceptance, or conversation while helping maintain security. Ideal for entry doors in homes, apartments, condominiums, dormitories, and rental properties, it provides added peace of mind when answering the door.
Unlike traditional swing bar door guards, this enhanced design features a ball-and-keeper interlock system that helps prevent intruders from forcing the door open when the guard is engaged. An additional thumb turn security lock blocks attempts to disengage the swing bar using common release techniques, helping provide an extra level of protection against unauthorized entry. For maximum security, the auxiliary lock can remain engaged whenever the door is not actively being used.
Constructed for long-lasting residential use, this door guard is designed to help strengthen entry door security while maintaining convenient everyday operation. Installation is quick and straightforward with all necessary mounting hardware included. In emergency situations, the thumb turn is engineered with a controlled breakaway feature that releases under approximately one hundred pounds of force, allowing emergency personnel to gain access when necessary without compromising normal security performance. Whether used as supplemental home security or to safely identify visitors, this swing bar door guard provides reliable protection, enhanced peace of mind, and dependable everyday functionality.
