Halo Select Touchscreen Wi-Fi and Matter Enabled Smart Lock Deadbolt with Door Status Sensor and Intrusion Detection

I will only buy Kwikset SmartKey (re-keyable) locks and this is the best Smart Lock available today. While I don't use "Matter" yet I plan to do so soon and Kwikset's commitment to Matter and it's enhanced functionality are impressive. Installation was easy except for the door jam plates. Some work with a chisel was required but that would have been true with any replacement lock.

I purchased the lock about 8 months ago, I am having the same problems as some of the other customers. I have xfinity and using Orbi mesh wifi for house internet. The lock keeps dropping wifi and Bluetooth. I am now just using the keypad to enter which is a plus not always using a key. But it isn't being used as it was ideally purchased (using android/iPhone to unlock phone) to enter home.

The product is awesome I love all of its features it's great for my family because they like to lose keys I have the thumbprint deadbolt and it works great I would love to win this other deadbolt that is a keypad

I want to love it and I can only hope it gets better with some time to maybe settle out. Took 5 minutes to do the physical install, that was easy peasy but the rest of it, whoof. Took an hour to get it learn the handing and be able to close the door, had to remove the batteries and repeat the process too many times to count. Then took 1.5 hours to get it to finally connect to wifi, same thing many times removing batteries and factory reset. Only 9.5 ft from the router and I'm using an iphone 15. Kept losing bluetooth while standing 3ft from it. Finally have it all connected and it's taking on average 52 seconds (+- 5 seconds) to lock and unlock via my phone. Bluetooth is connected, lock is showing full wifi. Have a wifi mesh network using Orbi AC3000's with verizon 1gb fios. 52 seconds seems pretty slow for my setup. Am I missing something? Overall, either I was extremely unlucky or god bless someone non-technical (I'm a computer engineer).

The locks kept falling off the network. My WiFi access point is 10 feet from the lock, but the lock connection is unstable. It jams most of the time for no reason. I'm using the latest firmware

This lockset does offer matter/thread integration for apple home assuming you have compatible apple hardware. My 4k apple tv was too old, i upgraded to the latest model and now the lockset is part of my apple home system with an access code for family members without a key. Hopefully the battery life will be 2x longer than AAAs. Kwickset needs to advise when their rechargeable lithium battery pack will be available so we can get even longer battery life.

So it was super easy to install, and unlike come others, I have had little problem getting it online or connected. What I really have problems with is the lack of programming support through the app itself, and the lack of ability to easily program the lock through button presses. For instance, button presses are muted by default, but on a touchscreen, beeping is the only feedback you can get. So how do you turn it on??? No Clue. Need to add a code without the app? Too Bad Already converted it to Matter and Homekit and want to control any of the normal functions??? Completely out of luck as converting it to Homekit, Alexa or Google Home automatically disables ALL standard Kwikset App features other than View Only. Why did Kwikset make such a cool lock and then decide to write the software in such a way that completely cripples it.

I just bought this lock, super easy to install and setup. It is very stylish and looks great on our front door. Highly recommend this lock for safety.

I love that it unlocks when it senses you coming into the wifi zone, and that you can set temp codes for dog sitter, or guests. It was not too hard to install, comes with a spare key incase the battery dies or you forget code. Great peace of mind.
