I purchased the Vornado Portal Low Profile Window Fan for our nearly 200-year-old farmhouse, which does not have central air conditioning, and it has made a noticeable difference in keeping the house comfortable. One of my favorite features is the exhaust mode, which does an excellent job of pulling hot, stale air out of the house, especially after a warm day or when cooking. The low-profile design fits nicely in the window without being bulky or obstructing the view. It was easy to install, and the controls are straightforward to use. The fan moves a surprising amount of air for its size and helps create a refreshing breeze throughout the house when paired with an open window on the opposite side. I saw other similar products but these looked a little more professionally made to me. (Brighter colors, easy to carry handle, etc) Also came with great instructions and even had troubleshooting if you ran into problems. I have been using this for 2 weeks in the Texas heat, and it even rained and I haven't run into any issues. Also the color is bright. Purchased 3 to be installed in our large garage. They feel pretty substantial except the blades were quite a bit more flimsy than I was expecting. It was easy to add this fan to a location where a porch light was no longer needed. I purchased a 3 way switch and connected inside so that we can change the speed with a wall switch. I did not add any additional wiring, so it does not oscillate. However, it is mounted in a 9x9 ft space, so that is not a problem. It is very comparable in sound and pressure to the same desk top fan that I use in my bedroom.
