The molding is made of Polystyrene and, as such, is durable, flexible, lightweight, and will never shrink like conventional wood molding. It comes ready to install, painting is not required, however, to maintain uniform color we recommend painting with 100% acrylic latex paint. Fasten your PVC with standard PVC cement and stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized nails using common wood­working tools. Because PVC won't absorb water, it's perfect for installing directly to masonry or below ground level (basements), which is not always possible with wood or composite material. Feel good using a green product too, making it both economical and environmentally friendly.

There are 5 casings 85-1/2 height in a pack that will perfectly complete the look of the Belldinni Slab or Single Prehung door. Eco-friendly materials and plenty of modern technologies are perfectly combined with the best industry standards.

The good is that this product installed on the matching door looks awesome. The bad is this product is actually required if ordering the matching door which was advertised as “prehung”. The door most certainly is not pre-hung and requires these casing pieces as a separate purchase to complete installation. It would be practically impossible to fabricate your own casing since the finish on the door and trim is a sort of rubbery veneer and the frame is slotted to accept this product specifically. So just know the door will be a couple hundred dollars more and be a timely installation when compared to a real pre-hung door. I am happy enough with the installed result to give it 4 stars though.. This crown is amazing, after hand painting the details and installing, the moulding looks like it has been there since the 19th century. This product is easy to install, it has flexibility which makes it great for old home with uneven ceiling and corners.
