The chairs required installation and I had a heck of a time getting the plastic (usually wood) dowels into the holes! This is embarrassing to say, but I literally put them in the freezer for awhile and then used a hammer to get them placed in the dowel hole, otherwise I couldn't get them in. Once I figured that out, it went fairly smoothly and for 2 chairs, it took me ~20 min. The color matches my walnut dining table well. They are comfortable and modern. These chairs are compact but sturdy. I love the Mid Century Modern look to them. Unboxing was a bit frustrating—the Styrofoam crumbled everywhere, creating quite a mess, and the screws were taped to it, which made cleanup even more difficult when removing them. During assembly, pieces F and G (the lower cross bracing) were especially tricky to align, and many of the screws didn’t line up easily with the predrilled holes. Step 10 was particularly challenging, as there were no predrilled holes for those screws, making installation much harder than expected. Love these chairs -- they look even better in person. They were a little tricky to put together -- you have to screw in one part behind the crossbar which is very difficult. But other than that the directions were very clear and they gave you extras of the hardware which is always appreciated. The chairs themselves are nice and sturdy with adjustable legs so they won't wobble at all. They have a great midcentury look with a low profile -- I think they would look really nice as chairs in front of a desk. The wood is high quality, too. Quick to put together and such good quality. The chairs have some weight to them so you can tell it's solid wood and prevents it from easily being scooted around when sitting on it. We went with the natural finish to soften our custom table. At first the chairs pulled a little too much yellow, but have settled since.
