Like so many of the other reviewers, I found that this bird cage came damaged - most likely from the factory itself. The shipping box was nearly free of wear or damage. There is nothing on the box that would explain the huge dent both trays have in them. The various parts within the box are protected from each other with a layer of bubble wrap. However, there is no styrofoam between the parts and the box to protect the contents from exterior shocks. I am lucky that my box was treated well by FedEx. I also had the same problems other had where one of the wires of the cage is badly bent and will need to be reshaped to prevent an avian escape. I also had to drill out a couple of the screw holes that were never drilled at the factory. With that said, however, my complaints seem pretty common to any of the alternative cages I considered. So, I'm not sure what other options any of us really have. This is the kind of item you want to buy from a customer service-oriented company like Wayfair. I have ordered replacement parts, so hopefully Wayfair will come through for me on that account. With respect to the cage itself, I would echo most of the other reviewers' positive comments. Once I get all these initial problems ironed out, it will be a nice cage. The metal is powdered coating a pleasing color/texture. It has a nice size and rolls easily. The metal bowls that come with it are a thicker gauge than I expected. I think I could drop them onto a tile floor and expect them to survive undented. That was nice to see.. Douglas.
