This desk is an excellent value at this price point. Pressed wood, but looks realistic enough. It’s quite solid and well made. It does take quite a bit of time to put together but I wouldn’t say it was hard. The directions had a lot of detail and were simple to follow. I put it together mostly alone over two days (desk one day, hutch the next). My only complaint is the picture on Wayfair is misleading in color. It is not a true grey as I had hoped. I absolutely love this desk. Obviously at this price, it is not going to be solid wood. It’s made of particle board in China but it looks so much nicer. Some pieces were a little dinged on the edges, but none of that shows once it’s built. I have it next to a high quality dresser in my bedroom and it fits right in. I love that the top lifts to a standing desk when needed. My husband assembled it on his own and knocked it out pretty quickly. He’s an angel. I would not have enjoyed the process, but he found it very easy. Wayfair shipped it quickly. The only major annoyance is that they used FedEx and my FedEx driver is too lazy to take it out of the truck to deliver it. My Ring camera caught him on two consecutive days coming to my door to take a picture of my empty porch. He didn’t knock or ring and I got notified that delivery was attempted but no one was home. I absolutely love this desk and matching file cabinet. It’s exactly what I was looking for in my new office space. It was easy to assemble, very sturdy, clean and modern. The file cabinet was a little more complicated to assemble as the file drawers didn’t actually line up with the existing holes drilled. Thankfully I am handy and redid it myself to a make them work. This is a beautiful and very sturdy desk. I would 100 recommend hiring professional assembly if you can afford it as there’s over 35 separate pieces and numerous screws.
