A Nightmare Experience Despite a Decent Product I ordered the "Arlex Murphy Bed" from Wayfair on September 2, 2024, and what followed was a 3+ month saga of frustration and disappointment. The "wall bed mechanism"—you know, the part that actually makes it a Murphy bed—didn’t arrive until November, leaving me with an unfinished Murphy bed for OVER TWO MONTHS. During this time, I spent over 20 hours on the phone with Wayfair's support team, trying to make sense of delays that were entirely due to the supplier's incompetence. While the product itself is nice and functions as advertised, the experience was so awful that it gives me heart palpitations every time I walk past the Murphy bed. To make matters worse, I’m STILL missing two parts from the supplier. Stephanie C from Wayfair support was the only saving grace in this nightmare. She has been tremendously helpful and truly deserves a raise for dealing with this mess. If you're considering this product, be prepared for endless frustration, wasted time, and the need to micromanage delivery every step of the way.

Wow! Get ready for four large boxes. They are heavy too. This is more on the plain side of a Murphy bed. Of course it’s press board wood. The wood press board is nice. Very, very heavy and thick too. We weren’t able to set it up at this time. Yet, looking into the boxes and checking things out. It’s nicely packed. Nice and white. Clean looking. Seems to be nice quality as well. No mattress! Metal Frame.

This bed is the perfect solution to having room for occasional guests but a functional space the rest of the time. It was easy to assemble with step by step instructions and product part holes that aligned and labeled perfectly. It does arrive in 6 heavy boxes and many steps required 2-3 people for lifting. You will need to remove the baseboard and find wall studs for anchoring. (Oh and if placing on carpet, raise the feet 3” before you stand the wall box up.) The fact that it does a 12” mattress is another major benefit. Bucket list item completed!

This is a very well-designed, high-quality Murphy bed! I will highly recommend this one. Be aware heavy tall parts come in 4 different huge packages. Ideally 2 people will make the task easier to handle the packages. Note the bed can be entirely assembled by one person only. However, it may take btw 6-7hs. to get the job done, even if hiring specialized assembly services.

This bed came in four boxes. It took my husband 7 hours to put together. We have not removed the protective plastic film off the front and sides, as we will be moving it to our new home. The doors are not actually doors. The bed is pulled down from the door handles. Lights did not come on immediately. We left it plugged in and the following day they were working, I am not sure if they needed to charge Great sturdy piece! Can’t wait to get it to its permanent place.

Sleek and modern piece. We were in need of two offices in our house which we already have a dedicated office but with this piece, we were able to turn the guest room into an office. A couple of notes- for the main t bar that runs down the middle of the bed frame, make sure to line up all the holes with the other sets of holes since those will be holding the slats for the mattress. Make sure to not use the screws that come packages with both the small and large handles. The small handles for the side doors if you use those screws they are too long and will puncture through the wood. Overall, easy to assemble. Some parts were difficult to do with only one person.

Wow, this bed has been a game-changer in my office! It takes up minimal space and has a beautiful design that has added a modern touch to the room. I love the LED lights, the built-in charging station, and the stunning scratch-resistant high-gloss finish. This bed is perfect for my extra bedroom, a small space, and now I have a comfortable sleeping arrangement for guests. It shipped quickly, and I received the complete order in only one week. I hired a professional to assemble, and it took him four hours. I was relieved that it could be attached to the floor and carpet without causing damage. I didnt have to remove the carpet or baseboards. It also cleared my ceiling fan with no problem. This product has exceeded my expectations from start to finish, and I gladly recommend it!

This murphy bed cabinet seems to be of good quality and sturdy. I love the high gloss look and it makes a tiny bedroom a useable space! I gave 4 stars because it was an extremely difficult assembly because not all the parts were labeled clearly and the instructions leave a lot to interpretation.

This bed is going to be fabulous when we get installed in our new home. I am showing the boxes so you know what to expect. One huge box comes with the mechanism. That box was 141 lbs. Then 3 more boxes arrive, each weighing at least 100 lbs each. I want to leave them closed up as the bed will be installed in my new home. Will add more photos later.

When ordering something as large as a Murphy bed you should assume it will take a while for you to recieve. It arrived in 4 large boxes and took a couple months to recieve, but well worth the wait! You must be invested to install a murphy bed! The install was cut and dry but very time consuming and you need 2 people for sure! Be prepared to remove floor molding, to drill into studs or concrete if need be. Overall I am very happy with this Murphy Bed unit. It is an attractive piece once installed. This bed has built in lighting and plugs so if you don't want to see the cords coming from the top be prepared to hide the cords (we bought a cord cover in white with self adhesive to stick to the cabinet). The bed mechanism works well and handles our 12 inch memory foam mattress well. Make sure you read the minimum and max weight for your mattress. I would definitly recommend this Murphy bed! LOVE IT!
