I wonder why I lived so long with an unfunctional, sloppy plastic kitchen trash can whose step-open function had broken within months of purchase. THIS TRASH CAN IS GREAT. It is heavy enough not to move around, neat and efficient. It has a plastic insert which can be removed for cleaning. The step function with soft-close is a great feature. I ordered and received it in light green powder coat, not black as in this review title, and the finish is a beautiful soft green which is easy to clean. The instructions state to be very careful that you don't put it together incorrectly as the pieces can't be undone, but I had no problem relocating one I had inadvertantly put on backwards.
