Limbering up before rehearsal, ballerinas stretch at the bar in this expertly rendered work that retains the edge of realism. Though grouped with the Impressionists because he also favored dazzling colors and the effects of light, Degas never painted en plein air, but favored a technique that demanded the planning and execution modeled by the old masters. The authentic stretched canvas replica captures the original painting's texture, depth of color, and even its brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. It is surrounded by an imported, antique gold-toned, delicately sculpted 4" wide designer resin frame with a leaf motif. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.

This is my first time buying an art reprint. My girlfriend and I broke up, and to cheer myself up, I decided to decorate my new apartment. Oil painting on canvas hand-painted oil reproduction of a famous Degas painting, Dance Studio at the Opera. The original masterpiece was created in 1872. Today it has been carefully recreated detail-by-detail, color-by-color to near perfection. Edgar Degas was born in Paris in 1834 and studied art from a young age. His most popular paintings were and still are his ballerina paintings like The Dance Class, Star Dancer (On Stage), and Dance Studio at the Opera. Asymmetrical compositions like Two Dancers on Stage show the influence of the Japanese prints in which Degas became interested. His painting career was prematurely ended by failing eyesight, and he died in Paris in 1917. This work of art has the same emotions and beauty as the original. Why not grace your home with this reproduced masterpiece? It is sure to bring many admirers! Frame description: Burgeon Gold Frame - Organic Pattern Facade with Gold Finish.

This is an excellent reproduction, and looks beautiful in the frame it is mounted in. This piece will make any room look great. I would like to add that the piece itself is lighter than the one pictured. That is, the floor appears green in the image, but it is a light beige in real life. It is a beautiful piece though. Pros: Great value, high quality Cons: Picture makes piece seem darker than it is. It is lighter.. John. Rochester, NY. Thu Nov 19 2015
