Classic Boho Square Decorative Trays

We love the whimsy of the square lucite zebra tray. The Scalamandre zebra pattern in the color is your fun serving tray and/or gift for the adventurer in us all. Use the tray on the ottoman, bath, or kitchen for a pop of color! A little background history: Originally designed in the 1940s for the Gino of Capri restaurant, lovingly known as "Ginos" by New Yorkers, Scalamandre restored the Zebras wallcovering in the upper east side institution in the 1970s after it was destroyed in a fire. Flora Scalamandre, wife of Franco, free-handed the signature motif that would come to be known as the iconic Scalamandre zebras. The pattern is celebrated the world over in design and in the movies. It was featured in the "Royal Tannebaums" and "Mighty Aphrodite." The pattern design has grown in color offerings and mediums.

Beautiful tray! Works perfectly with my decor. Also very solid quality. I give it 4 stars because 2 reasons: 1) There is a little scratch/dent in one corner, but not big enough to return/exchange, 2) I didn't read the description carefully and didn't realize the tray bottom is a mirror (it looked ivory in the photo; I would've preferred ivory).. The Taurus tray set has a number of artisanal aspects to its design and construction. The handmade ivory and black decorative trays have square-mitered profiles - the small one sans handles and the large one with openings to grasp. Once the bone and composite materials have been fitted together in tidy lines, the texture is achieved on the surfaces when artisans mark the white-speckled bone with a brazing tool. This level of specificity and the fact that the trays are composed like intricate puzzles make these special accent pieces designed by Aimee Kurzner.

Absolutely beautiful tray. It is really a piece of art. It's on my modern white and grey marble coffee table. I can't see myself covering up the unique artwork with anything! (placing anything in the tray) The print doesn't quite go with my modern abstract wall art, but serves as a fun and historically nostalgic print with interesting color added. love it!!. Mary. Woven plant fiber brings texture to a surface that usually gets glass or stone, and these two squares nest together or work apart. A set of two means you can park the larger one on an ottoman and keep the smaller by the tub for soap and a folded cloth. Texture like this warms up a room of hard edges.
