Made of composite, the 3 Piece Coral Branches Sculpture Set fools the eye into thinking they are composed of the natural materials found at the bottom of the sea. Though they appear to be placed on stacked wood stands, these bases are made of composite as well. The red sculptures have two artisans to thank for the feeling of authenticity: the mold maker, who is central to the work; and the painter, who hand-paints the pieces to create the illusion that they are from nature. We also offer a smaller set of coral sculptures in a brighter red.

I was quite disappointed with this item. The header of the Perigold page calls it a "3 Piece Coral Branches Sculpture Set". So I naturally thought it was coral, and ordered it thinking this. However, while waiting for delivery, I took another look at the page, and down below it said it was "composite" and so not actually coral. Therefore, I had to return it. I must say, though, that Perigold made returning it quite easy. In fact, I have always had positive purchasing experiences with Perigold, and will not stop shopping here because of this one glitch, but I do think the labeling was misleading (I am sure not intentionally), and so should be changed.. Åsa Jungnelius' classic sculpture Mother of Pearl is now available as a smaller object in the Kosta Boda artist collection. Mother of pearl is uniquely shaped in hot glass and the color is poured into the scoop. The pattern is created individually by the mold. The crystal-clear pearl is hand-sculpted and the pieces are joined with heat in the hot shop at Kosta Glassworks.

The Venus Clam is created by the Swedish artist Åsa Jungnelius and inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s famous painting, the birth of Venus, from the 1480s, in which the Roman goddess Venus emerges on a clam shell after she is birthed from the sea. The Venus Clam is a decorative object with a dual role as a dish and is part of the Kosta Boda artist collection. The piece is handmade at Kosta Glassworks, Sweden, in a subtle pink color, which is first melted down, and then obtained from a ceramic crucible. It is an elaborate process that leads to a beautiful result.

Looks good, but nothing to "weight" it down ~ we added a stake. Su Z Q. Silicon Valley, CA. Thu Dec 09 2021

It really DOES float without tipping over! Very nice addition to our pond-kind of wish I got the bigger size, but the 12” is good. FYI, the 12” is the height of the Mast not the length of the boat.. Mamie. Hopedale, MA. Thu Jul 30 2020

Flamingos are one of the most stylized and striking birds. The name means "flame-colored". Because of its fire color, the ancient Egyptians believed that it was an embodiment of Ra, the sun god. Flamingos are generally long-lived birds and a recent observational study has shown that they form lasting bonds of friendship with each other. The symbolism of flamingos and their instantly recognizable anatomy inspired Lladro artists to depict them in this creation. A couple of flamingos are made in matte porcelain with a surprising decoration in pink and golden luster. The result is a very evocative and decidedly contemporary design.
