Located on the left side in the photo are several Harvard athletic facilities including Harvard Stadium, Harvard Rugby Field and Weld Boathouse. Moving to the right side of the photo is Widener Library, the large square building with the green roof. To its right is Memorial Church, with the tall white steeple. Established in 1635, Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and was named after its first benefactor, the young minister John Harvard of Charleston.
