The Wildcats basketball program began in 1903 and has a long history of success. K-State ranked No. 22 on Street & Smith’s list of the ‘100 Greatest Basketball Programs of All-Time.’ Located in Manhattan, Kansas, Bramlage Coliseum opened in 1988 and has a capacity of 12,528. Founded in 1863, Kansas State University, originally named Kansas State Agricultural College, is the oldest public university in the state.

This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, captures the ensuing jubilation, as the West Virginia Mountaineers® made a game-winning layup in the final four seconds of the game to stun the Kansas Jayhawks and end the night in victory. After the Jayhawks threw a full-court pass and missed a layup, the West Virginia fans poured out onto the court for a robust edition of "Take Me Home, Country Roads" to celebrate the win. The Mountaineers scored 17 points off turnovers and had 22 offensive rebounds that led to 15 second-chance points in the victory. This ESPN nationally televised game, played at WVU Coliseum, marked the second consecutive time the Mountaineers beat Kansas in Morgantown.
