Cupid's realm is described as love, this beautiful black-haired maiden has entered seeking to find love as the mischievous angels dart about teasing, representing all aspects of love, passion and desire that can bring waves of joy or pangs of unrequited amour. French artist Bouguereau, was considered an Academic and traditionalist with modern interpretations of classical and mythological subjects. As a teacher, frescoesist and draftsman Bouguereau opened art to women and held coed classes. Popular with Victorian patrons in France and the United States, few could match Bouguereau's realistic figures touched with idealism. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. This replica European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.
