Bathers have become a major influence for artists over the ages, and as an admirer of Renaissance masterworks, Bouguereau drew inspiration from classic subjects. Here Bouguereau masterfully portrays these two as realistically proportioned, dark-haired mature women with golden flesh in a sinuous stylistic setting of luminous glowing seashore. French artist Bouguereau was a traditionalist and an Academic whose genre and mythological themes were interpretations of classical subjects with concentration on the female form. The idealized world of Bouguereau paintings brought to life goddesses, nymphs, bathers, shepherdesses and Madonna's in a way that appealed to the Victorian patrons in France and the United States. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. This replica European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.
