Sallie White’s approach to painting is informed by early lessons in loss and impermanence. “One can either resist change or become an instigator, I choose the latter”. White builds and deconstructs in layers, scraping away the safe and conspicuous to extract what feels like truth. White’s finished paintings are the survivors of many battles, resting on the bones of buried pretense. White’s paintings are in private and corporate collections across the US and abroad.
