The base for this Desk Globe was adapted from one of several furniture designs done in the forties. It is believed that he was working on designs for either the homes designed about that time or for his own homes, Taliesin and Taliesin West. As there are no specific notations on the drawings, they have not been assigned to any particular project.

This Desk Globe was adapted from the design for a large brick pedestal in Booth Park, for the town of Glencoe, Illinois. The project, never developed, included covered archway entrances, lights, troughs for watering horses, seating and sculptures.
