Perfect pile depth, easy to walk on , the differing of pile depth created a eye appealing contrast. Great for high traffic areas and a soft feel yet durable. And quality is by far above our expectations. A beautiful rug with flecks of specks weaved in , With a solid color every thing seems to show up on the carpet from lint, dirt , bits and pieces of life, but with the specks it's not as noticeable , nice , bought the gray color 8.6 x11.6 and heavy, made of wool 100% , They recommend vacuuming without a beater bar, and for the smell, it does have a odor when we opened it up, Just sprinkle some whole cloves over the carpet and vacuum up. We sprinkle cloves once a week for all our carpets, gives it an earthy scent and refreshes the vacuum from dog or pet smell. Also lightens up the room. We are very pleased with this rug.
