I could not be more pleased with this purchase. I recently moved into a rental that has an awkward layout for cooking and this solves the problem beautifully. The leaf is just perfect, allowing more space for food prep but with the option to stow it away to keep the walkway open. From the time I opened the box, including organizing and verifying all the parts, it took 3.5 hours to assemble, plus another 20-30 min for final adjustments, removing stickers, and disposing all the packaging. One of the hardware packets was mislabeled. The instructions were mostly clear with a couple confusing spots. At the end one of the drawers wouldn't slide in all the way so I had to adjust the sliders to a different hole than instructed. I didn't need (or like) the bulky spice rack so I filled the holes with nail hole filler. As other reviewers have commented, it is definitely a tip hazard with the leaf open when the cabinets are empty, but once I put heavier stuff inside the whole thing stabilized. I agree the back side (leaf side) of the unit would look nicer with a more finished appearance but it doesn't bother me since it faces away from the entrance. Luckily the delivery person delivered the box right to my door where I could drag it inside - I'm a petite woman and it weighs 100 lbs, so I wouldn't have been able to get it inside otherwise. This is the perfect islandtable if your set up doesn’t really have the space for a table. The storage and side cabinetry holds a good amount of stuff. I will say, i was impatient to wait for help. - First impression once assembled, looks just like the model online. However, the wood top had 2 damaged areas 1 a scratchgouge, another that had a stain that someone tried to color in and varnish over. We had put so much work that when we noticed it, we were an hour in and didnt want to have to wait for a new one. - Assembly with two people, it took about 2 12 hours to assemble. It was a pretty simple process, but they were just a lot of pieces. There were two times that the instructions were unclear in terms of the direction certain pieces had to go in, and in other areas it seemed like the steps could have been done in a better way. But overall it was simple but tedious. Instructions would earn a 94 out of 100. Finished we are very happy with the entries result. It goes really well with our other furniture and the sage green color is really pretty. I like the extra space with the flip top wood on top, but part of me wishes that the extra piece was on the other side. Also, since we use this for a space between our kitchen and dining room, the paper towel holder seems a little out of place. If it was just for the kitchen it would make sense. But thats a personal preference. The drawers are nice and deep, and the shelves are movable so that you can adjust them to various heights if your needs change. Overall we are very happy and glad that we saved the assembly fee. The reasons for not giving a five star two gouges on the wood top, and a few areas of the instructions had to be figured out. Easy to put together and it folds nicely when no it use. I currently use to do inventory in my shop, with the laptop on the top. I have the stainless steel version. This cart is functional, pretty, and exactly what I needed for my kitchen space. Solid wood, easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and easy to follow. It lost one star because I only received one cabinet knob, not two, and had to run to the hardware store to purchase replacements to complete the build. The customer service center was closed for the weekend by the time I realized the error, but regardless I wanted it completed, so off I went. Replacement knobs in hand, the rest of the assembly went smoothly. Getting the top placed correctly was a teensy bit tricky, I do wish there had been some indication as to what was the front or back, but I managed to get it done. I absolutely love this solid real wood island! You can't beat the price. Well it is real wood, it is a lighter wood. I did have a few small pieces with some splintering defects because of this, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. Other than that, I didn't have any issues with assembly like what other reviewers noted. I found assembly to be rather easy. The pieces were all numbered, but a lot of the numbers had fallen off in the box or elsewhere. This wasn't a big deal as the instructions have good pictures and I was able to figure out which pieces correlated with which numbers.
