If you are on the fence about switching to induction and aren't quite ready to fully commit, I highly recommend a hybrid setup like this. I paired this 30" unit with a gas burner next to it, and it's the perfect size to get you used to this new way of cooking. Honestly though, induction has become so fast and precise that I’m not even sure how much I’ll actually use the gas burner moving forward. You won't regret making the jump. The touch panel controls do take a little bit of getting used to if you're coming from traditional knobs, but it's a quick adjustment. By far, the absolute best part about it is how easy it is to clean, but I am more cautious with it now just to keep it looking pristine. One piece of advice if you are renovating: Make sure you double-check the depth of the unit before you finalize your cabinets. You will most likely need to cut into the cabinet frame below to make it fit properly. Overall, it's a gorgeous, low-maintenance upgrade. Some of expressed concern about the arrangement of the burners and their BTU levels, but that is magic in my view. There is so much customization available that it takes a bit of time to readjust what to cook where -- but that's part of the fun in my opinion. The "stops" that exist between levels of flame, as well as the numbers assigned to each, make it easy to remember what number flame to use next time for that purpose. The only worry I have is scratches because the installer caused one near that simmer burner while setting the cap on and of course now that is there forever, sadly. I had to wait for this model to return to inventory, but the wait was worth it. Highly recommend this Bosch Benchmark model for its beauty, sure, but also for its performance and ease of use!.
