DDW18D1EB 18" 51 dBA Built-In Dishwasher with Digital Display

First, it ships well-packed and it works. It arrived without any dings or dents and the first load came out clean. Issues with it: - The first thing I noticed when I opened it was that the top rack falls off of its track even with no dishes in it. Once loaded with dishes, the front rollers sit a bit more firmly, but still pop out if one is not extremely careful to pull absolutely straight. The slightest sideways pressure and the top rack fails. - When installing, the instructions say to turn a screw of the front to raise of lower the rear leveling foot - but that screw does nothing. Turn it all you want, it does not raise or lower the rear. I'm lucky - I'm doing a non-standard install at the end of a peninsula cabinet so I have access to the rear of the machine. I was able to shim this to level, but for most installs, the lack of a functional leveling foot in the rear would be a difficult flaw to overcome. - The unit is fully enclosed on all sides (and bottom). This means that the first thing that fails brings about the end of the machine - throw it out and replace it in full. On other dishwashers, I've replaced water valves or drain solenoids, but none of this is accessible on this machine. Sadly fails in the "Right to Repair" category. This is a lower-end machine. At a regular list price of CAD$700, it's not epically cheap in purchase price, but it is epically cheap in construction.

Like many others, mine was damaged in transit and now the door doesnt open properly. Unfortunately because I unpacked it after 30 days of delivery there was no resolution by wayfair.

Been using this dishwasher for 2 years now. It small and compact and does a great job. Perfect fit for my bar.

I certainly hope WAYFAIR does not pass the buck on this item since I am a loyal customer. We ordered an 18" dishwasher and it arrived warped, dented and bent. The box it came in was in perfect shape so I don't know how this could have happened unless someone drunk or high wrapped it. I am hopeful that Wayfair will make this good and send a replacement immediately. We called, sent pictures of the damaged item and spoke with Angela at customer service at length. We were told we would get an email from the manufacturer, but frankly that should be Wayfair's problem not ours. Now, I can't seem to get hold of a live person to talk to!

So far the dishwasher has been fine, not the best but this is a case of you get what you pay for. The most difficult part of this purchase was getting a minimally damaged working dishwasher. While we are mostly satisfied with the final outcome of our dishwashing purchase through Wayfair, it was a very complicated process. It required ordering the dishwasher three times before we had one delivered in acceptable enough condition to keep. The first one was so badly dented on three sides, including the face, it would not fit in the allocated space. The second one looked like it had arrived with minimal enough dents that we could keep it, but once we looked at the back base, we saw it was cracked from one side to another making it unstable and susceptible to leaks. The third one arrived with some dents, but ones we could accept and make do with. Upon trying to install it we saw it was missing the two front leveling feet. This made us nervous because we thought maybe we were sent a washer that had been returned, but we were so frustrated at this point we decided to ask for the feet to be sent to us separately. Danby contacted us directly and said they would order the feet, but that it would take time. There was no other information as to how long “time” meant. A few days later we were told we would receive them in 7 business days. At this point we had been waiting over a month and a half from the first time we ordered the washer for this to be resolved. I sent an email asking for them to be overnighted with no response at all. We finally received the feet, but they were black instead of white and not even the correct pair that matched the washer we had ordered. They were not the easy turn feet you adjust with a screwdriver, and the threads were not the right size which made it difficult to install. A wrench had to be used.

Wayfair was awesome, the problem is Danby’s packaging. We actually bought 3 of these. 2 being from HD and they arrived heavily damaged and returned. We then bought this one from Wayfair with a slight mar on the front panel. We kept it and Wayfair is helping us get the new panel. Danby makes an excellent product out last of this model lasted 9 years, they just have to get someone to redesign the packaging so these things survive to the destination.
