Love the look. Had to put something behind beam though when hanging so it wouldn't sag down.

With wood being so expensive- our contractor suggested we order a mantle from Wayfair which they sanded down and restained to match the beams in our pavilion. Glad we did that - original stain for us was too red but came out great!

Very disappointed. The color was not a golden brown. It was a very dark reddish brown. One side looked like part of the stain was wiped away before it was dry causing a streak; ends were much lighter color than the rest of the piece. One corner was gashed, but this most likely happened during shipment.

The mantle has nice character. It is nerve wracking to hang but with enough research and preparation I was able to mount it very securely to the brick. I used four 12 inch lag sleeves and lag bolts. I also put adhesive in the holes of the mantle and along the back. I can hang on it and it wont move at all. Note I also had to angle grind the bolt heads off before sliding it in the holes I drilled into the wood. Sounds intimidating but it was worth it!
