All the bedroom lights in our house are 25 year old "contractor special" fishbowl or dome lights. When we replaced one, we discovered that NONE of them were grounded. So, taking the opportunity to make the house safer, we certainly weren't going to just ground the old, insufficient lights. And, why stop at a light, a fan in a bedroom is always nice! This one is absolutely terrific! It is not heavy at all, and the entire outside ring is a light. Plus, it can be controlled either with an app on your phone, or with the remote that comes with a wall mount. Terrific! Options! The blades are clear, as you can see with the picture, so very minimalistic, and the LEDs we're sure will be significantly brighter than what was in there. I am so excited to get it installed!
