I purchased a new all in one kitchen set that included an electric stove, sink and refrigerator through Wayfair. The unit I purchased was not delivered on the date it was originally promised. I also paid for installation through Wayfair. The installation was set up by Handy.com First off, the unit I ordered from Wayfair was rescheduled more than 3 times. The unit was delivered almost a month later from the original delivery date. Since the unit kept getting pushed back, so did the appointment we had scheduled for the installation with Handy.com. My experience with Handy.com and its so-called professional installers has been nothing but a NIGHTMARE. On two separate occasions Handy.com sent an installer to setup the new unit. The first guy was over 5 hours late from our scheduled appointment. This particular installer stated that the power line that feeds from the wall to the new stove unit is too long and that he would need to cut the line short. When he cuts the power line, he doesn’t even connect the power line to the unit, he then proceeds to install the sink and fridge. After installing the sink and fridge, the guy said that the stuff he put around the sink pipes needs to dry overnight and that he will return in the morning to complete the job. The next day the guy doesn’t arrive in the morning. I had called him to see if he was returning to finish the job. He stated that he had just woken up and would be on his way, he didn’t arrive until late in the afternoon or the early part of the evening. When he returned, he started working on installing the stove. Let me remind you the day before his genius idea was to cut the power line short. Now that the sink is fully installed, there is no room to plug in the wire to the back of the unit. I had to tilt the stove forward and hold it as he connected the wires in the back of the unit. I held the unit for over an hour for him to work on the back of the stove… If the installer left the power line the way it was it would have been easier to connect the wires to the unit. In the end the installer wasn’t even able to complete the job on the 2nd day. He said he would need to return the next day to finish the job. On the 3rd day he was late once again. When I called him he said he was just an hour away, he did not get to my place until 4 hours later. By this time I was upset and said please pack your belongings and leave. After filing a complaint to Handy.com, they were able send a 2nd installer to finish the job. When hooking up the power line to the stove, the guy must have set up the wires incorrectly because as soon as the unit was turned on, the power to our entire commercial building was shut down. In the end, I ended up hiring an Electrician to install a new power line that would extend far enough to where if ever I would need to pull the stove out to clean it or repair it, I can do so by sliding it out causing a spark or even worse get electrocuted. The repair by the electrician costs over $2500. I will never use Handy.com again, nor do I recommend anyone using their services.. Romano. San Francisco, CA. Sun Apr 09 2023
