Hard Assembly. Snapped.

from Chicago, IL on 07/18/2014

As stated in many reviews, this assembly did require a drill. It arrived at my house fairly quickly, so I was happy about that. However, It weighed a TON and came in one box. Just in case you don't have anyone to help you bring it into the house, that might come in handy. I put it together fairly easily with drill bits and screws. It looked great, a few of the edges were scuffed when I opened it from the box, but most of them were hidden by bedding and my mattress. Within 4 weeks the screws with the plastic fittings snapped and crumbled, right under my head. I weigh 160 lbs. Wayyyy less than the 500 lb weight limit on this product. I was extremely disappointed and proved the boyfriend right in the process (not good). This bed frame is too cheap to last long. If you want it to last long, you will have to make improvements on the frame itself and re-enforce it. However, that didn't even work as the wood snapped that supported the mattress instead of the screws. So basically I bought a pile of junk. Only buy this product if you plan on using it for less than a month and weigh less than 160 lbs. I would not recommend this product. The product matched what it said in the description, however, you do need to drill some holes.

Great Bedframe Platform

from Ann Arbor, MI on 08/21/2014 – Verified Buyer

The bedframe came as what it was shown online. It was relatively easy to build, especially if the person is handy. I purchased this item for my daughter, and I did build the platform by myself without getting any help (and I am a mom). It took me about 2 hours from start to finish, but it's doable to be done by one person. The bedframe is sturdy, and we have no complaint about the product up to this point. It is simple and we love its minimalist style. Perfect for small to medium size room as it doesn't take over the room because it is not bulky at all. The delivery was great and on time. The only 'issue' with the delivery was the package is EXTREMELY HEAVY! Be prepared to have someone helping you to carry it inside the house.

Great for the price

from Niles, MI on 02/10/2015 – Verified Buyer

I was really worried about getting a bed. The cost for everything was really astonishing( I knew they were expensive but I guess I didn't really know). But this does the deed perfectly. If all you want is to get off the ground then this is all you need. My only problem with it was in the assembly. All the pieces were there (always a good start) and it was basic stuff. Insert into a slide in to b etc. But right in the middle of it there were no holes. And if you don't have a drill and it tells you not to use one basically you're screwed. It has the capability to add an optional head board(sold separately) if you feel the need. All and all its great. Save for the 30mins and swearing in the middle of construction.

Looks great! Easy Assembly!

from Winston Salem, NC on 08/12/2014 – Verified Buyer

We ordered this platform bed in lieu of getting split boxsprings. Ours is a queen size in the gray oak. It looks amazing! And its super comfortable, no dipping in the middle when two people are laying on it. Be prepared for a heavy box. The box weighed a grand total of 135 lbs! I would suggest if you have to carry up staircases like we did, disassemble the box first and carry it up piece by piece. Your back will thank you! Assembly for this product was easier than I was expecting. It does take about an hour with two people. While it is not needed (and we did not use one) a power drill would have been helpful, so if you have one handy use it! If not, your hands may be a little sore the next day but as a girl I had no problem screwing in the screws where needed. All and all I would absolutely recommend this product!

Love this bed frame!

from Abilene, TX on 01/20/2015 – Verified Buyer

This is exactly what I was looking for -- an inexpensive bed frame that does not require a box spring. My bedroom is in the top floor of my house and has very low ceilings. I've been using a basic metal frame from the mattress store, and I constantly hit my head on the ceiling when I wake up during the night. This frame allowed me to get rid of my box spring, and makes my room look MUCH bigger than before!

As other reviews state, the box is extremely heavy. I did what past reviewers suggested and carried it up piece by piece. However, the assembly was very easy -- I was able to build it by myself in less than 2 hours with zero frustration. The construction feels very sturdy and solid.

I would absolutely recommend this bed to anyone. I especially like that I will have the option of adding a headboard at some point in the future, when I move into an apartment with higher ceilings.

Great Bed, looks just like the picture

from Oceanside, CA on 07/31/2015 – Verified Buyer

I just finished putting the bed together with my kids help (8 & 10). I am very happy with the way that it looks and I really like the color. I couldn't give it a full 5 stars for a couple of reasons. First, the box was damaged upon arrival and some of the pieces were damaged. I recommend putting extra padding/Bubble Cushion at the ends of the box to prevent damage. Second, several of the steps did not have the pre-drilled holes so this took extra time to assemble. Thankfully, you could't see the damaged areas once the bed was put together and the bedding was on. It was very heavy as others mentioned but we just opened the box at the front door and brought each piece in at a time.

Pros: Great value, easy to assemble, looks like pictured
Cons: Damaged upon arrival

Works great for my 2-year old son! It was easy to put together although it came in a single, very heavy box. It didn't attach to the headboard I ordered of the same brand without customization, but we just installed longer screws. It's just what I wanted.

from Ventura, CA on 03/15/2016 – Verified Buyer

Once all put together the bed frame looks very nice and simple, just what I wanted.

Most people said that you could not put this together unless you had two people, you definitely could its just a bit awkward laying out the pieces to do so, just open the box outside the house since it weights about 140lbs and carry each piece inside.

Also, the instructions say a drill is not needed, but it really is. Many parts dont have even a hole started for you to screw into so while it wasnt really a problem to just quickly drill into where the hole should have been, dont get this if you dont have or know anyone with a drill.

Some people complained about extra length that they would nip their legs on walking by it, not for me, it fits my standard queen mattress perfectly.

People also were mad it didnt come with a headboard, well just read the description it obviously is only the frame.

Four stars because of the quality of the support beneath it. Has four slats that you lay across and four or five panels that go the other way on top of the slats. But there is no central support beam spanning the length of the frame... Meaning there is a lot of weight on these little four slats. These are particle board slats and Im pretty sure one of them already cracked a little and Im not a heavy person either. A little nerve racking, but just buy an adjustable metal frame that matches the height of the slats and it will be a perfect compromise for the weight on the thin slats. I found a few on Amazon for like 35.

Storage- yes regular plastic rolling
box type things would fit under the bed, you just have to really decide what you want under there because the boxes dont fit through the side panels (since from the floor to bottom of the side panels is something like 6 inches) but through the slats before you put down the solid panels, so if theyre under the bed, they are under there until you lift the mattress up again.

This is in general, a pretty low frame but even though my picture has the bed box as well, Ill be taking that off because the height of the bed frame and mattress by themselves is perfect. A bed box will be too high for most people (Im 58) to climb up on, and most queen bedding isnt large enough to reach to hide the box and mattress and fold into the frame. Just too much height as an observation.

It is cheap quality wood so expect a little creaking when you get in it and such.

Do not let these deter you from getting this bed frame. It seems like a lot of bad but its great for the price, mine was a white finish queen and was around 190 but then got a 10 rewards from doing the product reviews on other things Ive bought.
If you want something new that you are gonna sleep on that will look good with any furniture, get this.

Got it within the week I ordered and was delivered with care!

from Dublin, OH on 06/25/2016 – Verified Buyer

It was a little beat up from the delivery. Easy to put together! Nice clean white frame. Cannot wait to match with headboard.

EDIT: So I made an updated review on this bed about six months ago, and it was never posted. This bed was purchased in August of 2013, making it almost three years old now. The bed has been through quite a few moves but it is falling apart now. The slates that hold the mattress are rather heavy and will fall out of place. This is a problem because my cat likes to be under the bed. I cannot have the bed literally falling apart on top of him. I am only 5'4 and 115 lbs so it should be able to hold up fine. If anyone much heavier than me was to get in the bed it would probably collapse immediately. The squeaking is obnoxious in this bed. Every single move I make, from rolling over to my cat jumping up, it makes noises. I received the bed with part of the wood dented but it was on the side that is against the wall so I didn't bother doing anything about it. Since owning the bed though, the wood definitely is cheap and easily damaged.

Overall, for the price of the bed I didn't expect more than a few years out of it, but I will now be replacing it for a platform bed with the many slates across in hopes that will keep it from crushing my cat under the bed.

As advertised

from North Hero, VT on 07/06/2014 – Verified Buyer

The product was as advertised. There were no missing parts just a chip out of one of the horizontal slats. It does require two people to complete the installation if you want to do it in a reasonable amount of time. Yes, it can be done by one person.

It was delivered by FedEx and I had a terrible time with their service. I was so aggravated I called Wayfair and asked to have someone else deliver it. I had four days of miss delivery and reschedules from the day Wayfair promised it. The last one sent me over the edge when the FedEx person came back at night and leaned up this huge package on the side of my house in the rain after calling in to office to say he was there at 1130 AM and there was no one home to accept the package. I had been sitting there all day in front of the window to the driveway and not even the usual rabbits showed up that day. .
