The footprint of this is relatively tiny, but it is mighty. It holds 10 pairs of ski boots, freestanding, without falling over. Good but not great? There are 12 hooks on but only 6 hangers (not that you really could hang 12 pairs of tall boots because they really need the horizontal space), so even if you wanted to hang shorter shoes, you can't. I think this would have been better if there were hooks on all 4 'sides' of the center horizontal section, because even staggered, 6 pairs of knee high boots being layered on top of each other take up a lot of room. Better than being on the floor of my closet I guess but I thought it would be a bit more streamlined.
