This is heavy metal! See how thick the lid is? I have some other cheap gun safes but those are like tin-can to this one. It is solid heavy, 12 gauge steel I guess? Surprised for this price. Big enough for my 2 guns and clips. Programming is simple and straight-forward, easy to use. Fingerprint works well, the spring lid pops up pretty quick. I was a little concerned when I opened the box and didn't see padding, but the safe inside it's own box is covered in shrink wrap. It is sooo sturdy with no sharp metal edges. It locks into a bracket that can be mounted top and bottom, and the screws and anchors are included. This is a cash box...short and slim. I want to use it as a safe for small valuables, so it will work well. I would think it's perfect for jewelry too. I recommend, but if your items are taller and larger, you will need a deeper safe..
