These thumbscrew window locks are constructed of heavy-duty extruded aluminum, and each come with a steel thumbscrew in a white painted finish. Window locks like these are designed for use on older style horizontal and vertical sliding windows, manufactured with metal frames. The locks fit over the window frame fins and the thumbscrew locks into the outer face of the fin, which can be no thicker than 3/16 in. Other versions of this lock are available with non-marring shoes, with larger/thicker frame fin capacity, with dual thumbscrews for double the holding power, and with single and dual Allen head set screws for tamper-resistant installations.

This window vent lock is constructed of stamped steel and comes in a brass plated finish. This lock features a simple to install, and simple to operate design for use on vertical sliding (single and double hung) wood windows. Upon mounting this lock on the stile face, towards the bottom of the upper sash, it prevents the bottom sash from being lifted when the stop button is situated over its top horizontal meeting rail. The sliding stud must be slid to the opposite side to allow for opening of lower sash. Designed for use on single glazed/single pane vertical sliding wood windows for ventilation, or secondary locking purposes.
