I have received this and will read the instructions for installing. The light is nice, modern and simple. It has multiple functions and I think it will serve its purpose well. This fan works very well for our space. It functions as described with the remote provided (no AAA batteries included!) The light is adequate in brightness and the overall appearance of the fan is modern and the three blade adds a minimalistic element. It does not push tons of air down, so if your installation allows for use of the long extension so it sits lower, then you may want to do that; wish we had done. We are experienced amateur fan installers (probably 20 over the years) and we installed 2 others just last month, but this one was a bit tricky (totally do-able for those who have experience, but may be frustrating for others.) Notice in the third photo that the holes do not line up and therefore some manual adjustments had to be made. It was also a bit confusing the way (photo 4) the housing is all one piece, but the instructions (step 11) illustrate them separately. It was a true challenge to get this installed with the rubber fully flush on the surface. We had to buy longer screws that those provided, which would not catch, let alone hold. Once installed, the fan is really attractive and works as advertised. It is fully plastic, but that makes sense for outdoors, especially here in H.O.T. Texas. We are considering purchasing another one for the other side because even though we received the product through a promotion, we believe that at the current price, it holds sufficient value. The description for this product is dishonest and inaccurate. The product description says it's a "Smart fan". This was an explicit requirement I had for purchasing this fan. After having the fan installed buy an electrician and downloading the app I am prompted to pay $4.99 weekly or $29.99 yearly to control the phone using the app. None of this is disclosed in the product description. There is a button in the app to "continue to limited version" which is supposedly free but there is no free version. It simply sends you in an endless loop where you are prompted to pay them to use the app. The manufacturer and product listing are dishonest and you're asking for trouble purchasing this fan. If you lose the remote or the remote brakes, you lose all ability to control the light or the fan. That was the entire purpose of purchasing a smart enabled fan so that if something happened to the remote it doesn't brick the device. This is outright fraud. Do not trust this listing.. Christian.
