Looks very nice and projects a nice diffuse light in our living room. You can pull out/push in the arm. However, no matter how hard I tried to tighten the bottom, the pole will lean in the direction of the arm. This piece is in a corner in our house, so I'm supporting it with a box, but if you'd like this to free stand in your space then be aware that it leans a little.. Connie. Pittsburgh, PA.
