Transform your ceiling into an elegant, beautiful, and timeless display that will make a statement and add tremendous value to your living spaces, this coffered ceiling is a classic architectural design that brings out depth and dimension to an, otherwise, plain ceiling. Our urethane coffered ceilings are careful, ensuring an authentic look, and compared to wood, they are lightweight, easy to install, and have zero issues with rot, termites, or warping. What was once considered an expensive luxury, is now an affordable pursuit for a home that defines you.
nicely made polystyrene pieces which are well designed, but require an expert carpenter for a quality installation due to slight variations from piece to piece, injected molded from similar but not identical molds. Per my carpenter, these were convenient, but required a tremendous of finesse and adjustments at every miter joint to look right. Quality glue (PL Premium) and a solid substrate that will not move (a grid of 1x3's glued and screwed to ceiling joists) are essential for stability. Overall "a wash" in terms of time and expense compared to having full boxes and mouldings constructed the old fashioned way. For the curved bay windows straight pieces needed to be hollowed out, bent, and carefully glued and tacked in place under high tension. Happy with the results but did not save time or expense compared to old fashioned box beam and molding construction.. Paul. MA. Thu May 26 2022
