This is a great solid piece! I used to store loose pictures in a wire type bowl, but the pictures would often slide out. This solid bowl holds a lot and keeps them secure! Solid piece of wood. Nice even staining on it. One solid piece as far as I can tell. I reviewed the measurement before purchasing but was still surprised at the size. It would be good for placing fruit and holiday decorations. I may place a large pillar candle in middle and add seasonal items around it. Nice piece for a coffee table or dining table.
