The Design House Bay Privacy Knob is used in bedrooms and interior applications and features a locking button on the inside knob (no keyed device on the outside knob). This knob can be opened in the case of an emergency by depressing or turning the locking mechanism on the inside. This unit is finished, designed for left or right-hand doors, and fits the two most common backsets in the U.S. (2-3/4-inch and 2-3/8-inch). Use this knob on standard 1-3/8-inch and 1-3/4-inch thick doors with a cross bore 2-1/8 in dia or edge bore 1-1/16 in dia. (1 in. x 2-1/4 in. radius corner faceplate). Privacy knobs are often used in bedrooms and bathrooms and are opened with generic tools.

Satin Nickel

This privacy door lever is used in bedrooms and interior applications and features a locking button on the inside lever (no keyed device on the outside lever). This lever can be opened in the case of an emergency by depressing or turning the locking mechanism on the inside. This unit is finished in satin nickel, designed for left or right-hand doors, and fits the two most common backsets in the U.S. (2.75" and 2.37"). Use this lever on standard 1.37" and 1.75" thick doors with a cross bore 2.06" diameter or edge bore 1.06" diameter. This privacy lever is often used in bedrooms and bathrooms and is opened with generic tools. 1" x 2.25" radius corner faceplate. The privacy lever comes with a limited lifetime mechanical and a 5-year finish warranty.

Were very easy to put it considering they came with two different types of door plates for the latch (square or round edged). So much easier to open vs a slick, round knob for my handicapped sister & myself! Every household that has a handicapped/elderly person should switch out the door knobs to the lever style..
