The frame is built well it is strong and attractive. It does not come with a mat to separate the photos. I thought there would be such a mat due to the picture displayed in the catalog. It does come with a thin plastic sheet to hold the photos in place on the thicker plexiglass backing. This may be a plus, if one picture is vertical while others are horizontal.
