The Contrast collection from Kosta Boda is manufactured using a technique called centrifugation. The method, invented in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in the 1950s, creates veils of color inside the glass mass. In combination with the color powder and sticks added during the process, each piece becomes unique. My whole family loves the pattern. It hasn't faded or delaminated. Heavier duty than many melamine I have purchased in the past. Matches the photos & description. Very versatile. We use it strictly for the outdoor patio & so far, nothing has broken. I wish melamine were dishwasher/microwave safe, but that is standard, so not something to affect the rating.. Jennifer.
