This is common because most replacement shades have standard spider fitters aka washer fitters. Will this fit your lamp? Our Uno opening is 1 7/16" which is the most common size, so be sure to measure your bulb socket to make sure the diameter is less than 1 7/16". Slip Uno adapters are made to fit directly over a plastic lamp socket found on lamps usually purchased at many popular retail stores. Uno fitter shades are difficult to find, so this adapter lets you use standard washer fitter shades on your uno lamp base. This adapter attaches directly to the harp, allowing the use of nearly any replacement lampshade. Worked on a slanted ceiling so we could have a vertical hanging light fixture. It covered a huge hole. Pretty cheap looking but on the ceiling it doesn’t really matter. I bought this for my new home office so that I'd have appropriate lighting for virtual calls, and it works just perfectly! Not sure if it was intended for this, but there are also little slots on the back of the light that allowed me to easily mount it on my wall where I plan to sit for calls. Really worked out well!
