The Jozefina factory was founded in 1982 by Jozef Jankowski, a well-known artist and glass blower. His daughter-Ella Jankowska Fishman has emerged as a leading glass designer. Her designs bring a breath of freshness to the art glass world. At Jozefina we value the old, traditional techniques of glass blowing dated back as far as the 10th century. We are located in Krosno-Poland, the oldest glass and crystal producing area in Europe. Our breathtaking Cecile Hand Blown Art Glass Vase does double duty as both a functional vase and fantastic object d’art you will enjoy for many years to come. The generously sized vessel features a bubble shape with deep amber on one half and a much lighter amber on the other. The two sides are separated in the middle by vertical strokes of black, grey, and amber that add color and visual interest. Cecile’s mouth features a deep notch at the center and is flared to each side with a delicate curlicue at the ends. The vase is hand blown using Favrile art glass that was first developed by L.C. Tiffany in the late Nineteenth century. The Favrile process embeds color within the glass itself. This can cause subtle variations in color, tone, and texture, which means that no 2 pieces are exactly alike.
