I didn't put a cabinet on this wall because I felt like it would feel crowded by the door. However, when I was trying to figure out shelves, I just couldn't get the balance right with the cabinets to the left going all the way to the ceiling. When I saw this I thought it would be perfect. Some other reviews mentioned 3" planters didn't fit. All of these plants are in 3.5" planters from the nursery. If you cut the lip about 1/4-1/2" down on two sides across from each other. You can then squeeze the container to allow the cut areas to just squeeze past each other allowing a fit. I also took a piece of string and put it on the bottom of the container to reach into the ceramic planter. This way when you water and it drains out of the container, the string will bring it back into the soil as a self water situation. Here's another tip. Before adding your plants, hang the planter and step back and look at it. I had to fix two of the containers so the spacing was more even. MUCH easier to do without weight in them. Lesson learned.
