I bought this for my neighbor, who still sported her reindeer doormat on Easter. She was concerned about the white background, but it just hoses or wipes off. It's a bit smaller than her reindeer doormat :)...but it is fine. The only drawback is that it works best with dark background-- perhaps brick or painted wood.
