This was pretty easy to assemble, I completed the the assembly in just about 20 minutes. The instructions were straightforward and simple to understand. All tools needed came with the lectern, however I do recommend using your own Philips screwdriver to put it together a bit quicker. The top part of the lectern had a nice smooth black wood finish look to it. The top part of the lectern that can hold paper is sturdy, definitely strong enough to hold a laptop if needed. The bottom tray is not as sturdy as the top shelf but is still strong enough to hold a cell phone or a few pens. We but the table lantern to use to put a guest book for family event, a glass frame with the family picture to match, received so my compliments. Make presentations memorable with Legacy's Conference collection! This freestanding lectern moves on four casters and can be conveniently placed anywhere in any room. A podium shelf is angled towards the speaker and has a raised edge along the bottom to keep reference material in place. There are two fixed shelves on the back of the lectern to keep supplies or personal items out of view of the audience. Finished in a stylish laminate, this lectern coordinates with the rest of the Legacy conference collection. The Legacy collection is constructed of a 1-inch thick thermal fused melamine laminate with a 3-millimeter commercial grade matching PVC edge. Laminates are scratch, stain and scald resistant.
