This traditional log cabin hopper style feeder is made from reclaimed natural cedar and can hold over 10 lbs. of bird seed. The Bird in Hand Valley Forge Hopper Bird Feeder gets its name from the encampment of George Washington's continental army during the winter. A section from the back wall can be removed to enable the piece to clean and maintain the piece. There is a collar on the base to attach to a post.

Love this- was a gift for my husband as a log cabin bird feeder we had succumbed to a bear. This feeder is a work of art! It is amazing, so beautiful we actually have it inside yet in our timber frame home and will decorate it with lights for the holidays… then build a telescoping post for it. I was concerned about whether the birds would accept this based on the reviews but there are dozen of the flitting around it as I write this. I did deduct a star because the metal is a much thinner gauge than my previous brand name one (which needed replacing because a bear destroyed it- never had bears here before). The old one had already survived having a small tree fall on it. This one would not withstand that. The lid already had a dent when it arrived and I could easily bend the metal with my bare hands. The finish is a sprayed on paint, not a more durable powder coated finish so it will likely rust pretty quickly. I didnt want the hassle of a return so I kept it. If pesky ants or other crawling insects are a problem, our ant moat is a must. Simply fill the moat with water, hang above the feeder with included hooks, and the ants will not be able to reach the feeder base with its sweet nectar.
