Very sturdy materials and somewhat easy to follow instructions. I did however run into a snag where I installed item “D” backwards which meant I had to take apart the backing which I had already nailed onto the body. Item “D” is not symmetrical meaning it cannot be installed either way. If you come to the point where the top drawer is not pushing all the way in and is hitting item “D” then you will come to know that you installed it backwards. Beautiful, but it was incredibly difficult to assemble. I know a lot of people said it was easy, but as a young woman, I just didn't have the strength in my thumbs to insert all the tiny plastic pieces without it being excruciatingly painful in the end. I'm not saying that to scare you - just know what if you don't have strong hands, it can hurt. I was in tears in the end. I'd recommend getting someone to help you. Additionally, the long metal bar that's wedged into the headboard was not fitting and I had no idea why. I finally had to use a mallet to pound it into place. It's probably the hardest thing I've personally ever assembled due to the pain-factor. Once the bed was done, it was very solid and high-quality. It works perfectly fine as a twin-size day bed. If you're making it a king size, I'd recommend getting a twin-to-king mattress converter. That eliminates the painful gap in the middle. For extra comfort you can add a king-size mattress topper, but I didn't do that due to lack of storage space (if I had the space I wouldn't need the trundle bed). I love this beautiful rug. I just got new flooring and unrolled this out on it today over a Wayfair rug pad of course. It is not completely smoothed out and I need to figure out how to get the corners to stay down without using adhesive strips. I saw something about rug anchors so maybe I will find some of those.
