The holes had to be rethreaded because the paint made it impossible to fit the screws in. I almost gave up and returned the item. Other than that it’s very simple to put together. This is so nice and sturdy! Holds a bunch of shoes which is perfect for an entry way. I find it fits 15 shoes really comfortably and easy to get out. I just finished assembly. It took me way too long but I got it done! It looks beautiful. You do have to be careful with some of the screws in the manufactured wood but the finished product is solid. I do think the back panels should be the same manufactured wood as the rest. The very thin nails to secure part of the cardboard panels are difficult to hold let alone nail in. A lot of shoe organizers overstate how many shoes they can carry, I assume because they're using smaller shoe sizes. This can be a problem for me as I have fairly large feet.
